The Penguin - Season One Recap
Earlier this year, my husband and I went on a journey to discover some of the classic movies I missed out on during my childhood. I’ve had the most fun learning about the iconic stories of Batman through the movies and video games. It’s safe to say, we’re pretty engrossed in the lore, so naturally, we were stoked when HBO Max announced a new series called The Penguin.
Rest In Power: James Earl Jones and Frankie Beverly
Life and death can happen in an instance and completely change our world. There’s no way to predict when a loved one will transition to Heaven, which is why it’s so important to give people their flowers every time we have the opportunity. We have to keep their memory alive even after death. Join me as we give an Earthly farewell to two greats who recently transitioned to Heaven, James Earl Jones and Frankie Beverly.
Movie Review | Inside Out 2
I love a good Sunday matinee movie date. There’s usually less people in the theaters, the tickets are cheaper, and the timing works well enough to not throw off any of our other responsibilities. We heard great reviews that Inside Out 2 was a really good story, so we watched the first installment and quickly made plans to go see the second movie before it ended its theater run.
Movie Review | Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
I didn’t watch many movies growing up so as a fun hobby, my husband and I have been catching up on all the titles I missed out on. We’ve made our way through the Batman and Spiderman series and have recently embarked on watching the Planet of the Apes saga. Prior to May 2024, I had never seen any of the movies or even knew what they were about, but I can honestly say they are one of my favorite series now.
Vlogmas
Vlogmas is such an interesting time of the year to watch YouTube. There’s new daily vlogs from your favorite content creators and sometimes it’s extremely difficult to keep up with the hours upon hours of content flooding the platform. The vlogs typically have a different cadence from the content creator’s normal posting schedule to accommodate the seasonal festivities.
Breath of Fresh Air
Social media is one of the most consistent forms of entertainment for the vast majority of us. We aimlessly scroll through timelines to keep up with friends, family, and even celebrities. It’s also how a good portion of people stay up to date on world events since headlines on IG posts can provide information quicker than traditional news outlets. Content creators and regular, degular people are going viral each day for funny, informative, or touching content that resonates with the masses.
Tiny Time Capsules
You can think of songs like tiny, personal time capsules that get released each time we press play. Every song that’s on repeat in your library is building a nostalgic feeling that you won’t experience until some years down the road.
Page Turner
And with that much content to read, we are pretty much locked in for years. We read at a decent pace, but we definitely don’t like speed reading. Back in my day, I had a competition going with myself to read books as fast as possible. I loved getting new books but knew that to buy a new one, I had to finish one.
The Lost Art of Reading & Writing
Back in middle and high school, I was big into reading. I would race to finish a book just to get to the next book in my collection. I was indeed the epitome of a book nerd. I kept every single book and I didn’t crack the spines unnecessarily. My favorite series of all time is the Jessica Darling series. I initially loved it because the main character’s name was Jessica, but then I quickly fell in love with the actual story and the plot.
