Blistful

The list feature in Amazon is undefeated. The fact that I can create a list for each section of my house and window shop for things that I might never buy speaks to the Type A in my personality. My current lists are organized like this in no particular order:

  • Paw Pals

  • Kitchen & Dining Inspo

  • Entry/Dining Room List

  • Furniture/Decor/Gadgets

  • Bathroom Ideas

  • Ideas for Krissy

  • Clothing Ideas/Inspo

  • Outdoor House Ideas

  • Travel Must Haves

  • Office Supplies/Ideas

  • Gifting Ideas

  • Holidays

  • MooMoo Random

To complete this full overview, I shall provide a brief description of what makes each list different (as if it’s not obvious enough).

The Paw Pals list contains items specifically for Nala and Sasha. Right now, there are collars, leashes, an outside bathing tub, shampoo, and all sorts of things I’d love to purchase for them. One thing that’s been a little hard to find from Amazon (for cheap) are dog crates big enough to fit them. Right now, they have those basic black metal wire cages but they are looking rather busted and disgusted. Ideally I would like to get them an oversized cage so Sasha has a little bit more room to fully stretch out. The listings that fit that criteria are running about $250 and I’m just not willing to pay that much for ONE cage. Recently I found a softer mesh cage for $80 that actually might work for them.

The Kitchen & Dining Inspo list is self explanatory. Mostly kitchen gadgets, plates, serving dishes, cookware, silverware, decor specifically for the kitchen, and any organization solutions to help in that area. The dishes (dinner plates, small plates, and bowls) we originally bought from Target about two years ago are going to need replacing sooner rather than later. I’m thinking of continuing with the ivory theme, but I’d prefer to get more bang for my buck. Right now, we have 10 dinner plates, 4 bowls, and 4 small plates. The perfect combination for me would be 10 dinner plates, 8 bowls, and 8 small plates. We shall see if I can buy them all as a 26 piece set or if I’ll have to piecemeal things together.

Similar to the previous list, the Entry/Dining Room Inspo list contains items for the front room of my house. I’ve already picked out the dining room table and chairs that will match the console table currently by the front door. Instead of doing a basic china cabinet like people of the yester-years, I want a smaller cabinet that is more of a dark espresso wood with glass doors to showcase my mugs. I’ve found a few options on Amazon that I’ll have to decide between when it’s finally time to order. Lastly, I have a circle mirror included to go over said console table.

Furniture/Decor/Gadgets is like a catch-all list for organization solutions, items for closets, wall hangings for hallways, and anything else that doesn’t belong to a particular room. It was my original list that has since been split up and reorganized correctly.

The Bathroom Ideas list was created because I stumbled across a really cute green bath mat with leaves on it while scrolling Instagram. I haven’t flushed this list out completely, but it has essentials like toilet paper holders, under sink organizers, shower rods, and curtains.

Ideas for Krissy is my running inspiration for gifts for my husband. It’s easy to forget great ideas in between gifting opportunities so keeping them in one area helps my brain. Speaking of gifting, I need to decide what I’m getting him for our 1st wedding anniversary in a few weeks. I would go more in depth on items included, but I never know if he will randomly see this section of this post, so I must keep my secrets quiet for the moment.

Clothing Ideas/Inspo features clothing I’d love to buy. Any and everything from sleepwear, to athletic clothes, to dressy clothes, and everywhere in between is featured. I have jewelry, hoodies, sports bras, etc. listed so whenever any one asks what I’d like as a gift, it’s right there at their hands (and fresh in my memory).

Outdoor House Ideas is another relatively young list that was started because some of my neighbors put some really nice lighting around the gutters of their houses. I looked up a set of solar lights that work and saved them for later. There’s also some hedge clippers, heavy duty gardening gloves, weed killer, and mosquito repellent included as well.

Next up we have the Travel Must Haves list featuring, as the name suggests, must have items for travel. I’m thinking of getting a new luggage set, so I’ve been scoping out some that are a decent value for money. I’ve also included travel electronic cord case, a new cosmetic/hygiene bag, and a few other essentials that I’d like to invest in one day to make packing (and unpacking) much easier.

One of my favorite lists is the Office Supplies/Ideas list. I’m going to redo the office space upstairs and I’ve got ideas for a new desk, bookshelf, rug, and storage solutions. Right now there’s a desk in that space, but it’s much too shallow for my liking. I would prefer a desk much wider to comfortably fit two full sized laptops, a mouse, a keyboard, and preferably two monitors. Krissy bought a desk a few months ago that has two layers and even a shelf underneath that I’m going to buy in black. I want the color of the main furniture to be black so that the decor is easy to switch up (and won’t require me to complete rethink the space as time goes on). Other than furniture, I have my essential business supplies included such as multiple sizes for bubble mailers, labels for packages, pens, markers, and drawer organizers that I randomly need refills of.

Gifting Ideas is similar to my Ideas for Krissy list except this list contains ideas for everyone except for Krissy. This can include my mother, my mother in law, my friends, and everyone in between. I created it during Christmas of last year because I thought that was a better way of organizing ideas than the way I previously organized them. I used to make a Google Doc, list every person I needed to shop for (along with the projected budget), and then copy and past links from Amazon into said Google Doc. While in theory that was a great way of keeping everything in one place, it got hectic when the crunch time of shipping projected that 90% of the items listed would arrive after Christmas.

The Holidays list includes decorating ideas to keep the holidays festive, joyful, and beautiful. Not only are Christmas decorations included, but generic fall themed (to work for Halloween and Thanksgiving) decorations, centerpieces, welcome mats, and actually useful items are included as well. Right now, it’s still a premature list since I’m mostly focused on furnishing the house first and then decorating second. Once that time comes, I’ll have lots of ideas to run off of.

And last but certainly not least, the Moo Moo Random list is my personal list of things I’d like to try or buy. This ranges from skincare products to tape measurers to phone cases to supplements to headbands to water bottles and everything else. I consider that list to contain all of my disposable income wants.
